Centennial Banquet

What can we say?  The banquet was an all-timer, with 1,000+ guests gracing the confines of the Dempsey Center May 1.

Thank you Phil Henry ('94) (chair) and Erin O'Connell ('96) (mgr) for an incredible evening.  And thank you Banquet Committee members:  Stacey Jones ('90), Matt Minas ('93), Megan (Gillespie) Yount ('93), Paul Yount ('92), George Teasdale (what year should I put down George?), John Kueber ('92), Tristine Glick ('97), and Mike Hess ('77).

Also, special thanks to:  Patti Daves (UW Director of Special Events);  Ben Venema ('92) for his engineering work on the videos;  and the Lakeside women's rowing team.

Stan Pocock ('47) addresses the crowd with MC John Bissett ('58) to his right.  Pocock said of his years as a coach, "what a joy it was to motivate young people to meet their full potential."  Many of those "young people" he motivated were there in the audience to give the Husky legend a standing ovation.
