The Waterfront Activity Center
…located at the south east corner of the UW Football Stadium @ the east end
of the Montlake Cut.
Parking: Due to the significant Sound Transit
construction in the parking area (the parking gatehouse is gone), parking
will be different this year. Parking passes for area E12 - next to the
Waterfront Activity Center, see map - will remain $6.00 (cash or check), per
vehicle. However, instead of purchasing them at the gatehouse, you will
purchase them from us at the dock (and proceed back to your car and make
sure they are displayed properly). We also encourage you to carpool!
Here
is a map of the lower campus. The WAC is located at the bottom of the
picture surrounded by parking area E12. Conibear Shellhouse can be
found toward the top of the picture. |

We will begin the cruise aboard the Argosy, Goodtime II
vessel with a tour around Madison Park and across to the east side of Lake
Washington. On board we will have “Breakfast Croissants”, fresh fruit and of
course espresso drinks galore. We will return for an up close and personal
view of the races at which time Coaches Ernst and Callahan will join us to
provide their color commentary. At the completion we will disembark at the
point of origin and will be encouraging folks to make the short walk back to
Conibear Shell house for the post-race free barbeque and awards ceremony. |
Important Reminders:
- Get your
checks in the mail promptly. When we reach the maximum capacity of 200 guests
the function will be considered “sold out”.
- Please be
aware we will NOT be mailing tickets or confirmation information. We will
compile a list of attendees on a first come first served basis and
check you off as you board the vessel. We will make every attempt to call
(leaving a message) for individuals whose money was received after capacity
was reached.
-
Reminder: The $6 parking cost is paid on the day of the event. Drive
in, park your car near the WAC (area E12), come to the boat and purchase your
parking pass, and return to your car to place the pass on your dash.
- Questions:
call Dwight @ (425) 453-6829 or Bob Ernst @ (206) 543-2136.
Please be punctual with your reservations!
Online sign-up: (space is not reserved until funds are received)
And once again, please mail your check for the full
amount to reserve your spot(s), made out to "UW Rowing Stewards", to...

Thank you, and see you on board!
Class Day BBQ with the Team
The Class Day BBQ is served up by the Stewards
to the team and also free (donations accepted) to all of the parents, friends
and alums at the crewhouse after the races.
On the menu are beef, chicken or garden burgers; hot dogs; chips, cookies,
and a beverage, and maybe apples from an eastern Washington alum and maybe candy
bars if we're hungry when we do the shopping.
Class Day Awards, including the naming of the 2010
captains, inspirational athletes, and academic award winners, begin about 11:30.
The BBQ will begin about 11:00, or when the coals are
hot. It is served up on a first come, first served basis - once the food
is gone it's gone - so get there early! See you there --
And thank you Tristine and all of the Rowing Stewards
who make this event happen each year!
